We aim to lead the way in occupational health and safety (OHS) within our industry. Members of our Organisation apply quality and safety standards that have been established to protect our clients, our contractors, our employees and members of the public. The philosophy of our Organisation is to ensure that our work is undertaken safely, with a high level of integrity and quality. This is achieved by maintaining an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) complying with AS/NZS 4801:2001 that covers the activities of our operation.
The OHSMS has the objective of eliminating work-related injury and illness by:
Conforming to legislative requirements, being the Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice;
Identifying hazards related to the business's activities;
Assessing risks associated with the hazards;
Determining suitable control measures to minimise the risk;
Reviewing controls to ensure they remain effective;
Preparing Work Method Statements (WMSs);
Communicating safety issues to our employees and seeking their advice and suggestions;
Supervising and training our personnel;
Auditing the program to ensure that aspects of the OHSMS are functioning correctly;
Conducting periodic reviews to continuously improve the OHSMS;
Establishing measurable objectives and targets to chart our progress.

Personal Protective Equipment
All truck crew members have construction industry blue cards, first aid certificates, child safety blue cards and personal protective equipment (including steel capped boots, long sleeved shirts & trousers, hats, eye & ear protection, face masks & gloves and high visibility clothing)
All truck crew members must prove their competency to work on a blower truck in specific Groundworks Skills Competency tests. Training records for each staff member are available upon request. Our crew will attend site specific safety inductions as required.
Selected staff have height training, elevated work platform tickets, loader tickets, HR or HC licenses.
Groundworks has a comprehensive Workplace Health & Safety Manual & associated documents (all of which comply with AS4801) available on request.

To manage fire ant risks in accordance with the Fire Ant Risk Management Plan; and
To prevent pollution from arising from any of Groundworks' activities.

To increase environmental awareness and compliance of Groundworks' personnel through induction, training and performance management;

To assess, measure and report environmental performance as part of a process of continual improvement.
Groundworks will implement the objectives of the Policy in consultation with our employees, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
